꿈꾸는 지구

지구는 키우던 강아지의 이름이다.

얼마 전 세상을 떠난 지구, 아직도 그 래브라도 특유의 선한 눈망울이 선하다.

늘 방 문 앞에서 아침에 문을 열 때까지 기다리고 있던 지구의 모습에서 지금은 잠들어 있지만 자신만의 꿈을 꾸는 나 자신의 모습을 빗대어 표현해 보았다.

에드워드 호퍼의 그림 속 빛처럼 내 마음에도 따뜻한 빛이 스며들기 시작했기 때문에 다시 꿈을 꿀 수 있었던 것 같다.

“Jigu” was the name of my dog.

Not long ago, Jigu passed away.Yet I can still see those gentle, trusting eyes—so characteristic of a Labrador.

Jigu would wait quietly outside my door each morning,until I opened it. That image stayed with me.And now, I see in it a reflection of myself : asleep for now, perhaps,but quietly dreaming my own dream.

Like the soft, quiet light in an Edward Hopper painting, a gentle warmth began to seep into my heart.And because of that warmth, I found the courage to dream again.
